Mission

To enable students, faculty members, academic staff, and employees of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University to prepare and implement projects in collaboration with public institutions, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations in order to promote social awareness, sensitivity, and solidarity. Through the social responsibility projects to be carried out, it is aimed to achieve individual and societal gains.

Vision

To develop a perspective that ensures the integration of educational institutions and society in mutual cooperation to solve social problems through an educational approach that combines theory and practice.

Objective

The aim of the Coordination Office for Community Service Practices is to determine the principles related to the “Community Service Practices” course conducted at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Education. It is also targeted to improve the quality of community service practices by increasing cooperation with public institutions, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations.

Scope

This covers the duties and responsibilities of students, academic staff, student advisors, heads of departments, department chairs, and faculty deans in the implementation of the compulsory “Community Service Practices” course conducted under the Coordination Office for Community Service Practices at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Education. It includes the arrangements related to the planning, implementation, and evaluation phases of community service activities.

The directive regarding the “Community Service Practices” course applied in education faculties, approved by the Turkish National Committee for Teacher Training, was reviewed in the Higher Education General Assembly meeting on February 17, 2011, and it was decided that the directive should be implemented in education faculties.
