On 25 December 2024, within the scope of the Renewable Energy Sources course, third-year students of the Division of Science Education made a scientific investigation trip to the Solar Power Plant of our University. The trip was coordinated by the course supervisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cansel Akbulut and accompanied by technical staff electrical engineers Orhan YILDIZ and Emre GÜLTAŞ.
The trip aimed to reinforce the theoretical knowledge of students by seeing renewable energy technologies on-site and to gain awareness of sustainable energy sources. Our guides gave detailed information about the working principles of solar panels, energy conversion processes, and the technical infrastructure of the power plant and answered the students' questions. Students gained in-depth knowledge on topics such as energy efficiency, storage technologies, and environmental impacts. The interactive dialogue held during the event increased the awareness of students towards renewable energy.
While emphasizing that such activities are an important step in terms of increasing both the scientific and environmental responsibilities of students, our guides, engineers, Orhan YILDIZ and Emre GÜLTAŞ, and the university administration were thanked.
