The project entitled “Your Turn to Speak: Time to Speak English,” which was supported under the “We Are Volunteers” Project Support Program implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has been successfully completed.

Conducted by students of the English Language Teaching Program of our Faculty within the scope of the Community Service Practices course, the project aimed to bring together university students and secondary school students through English communication activities, thereby enhancing participants’ confidence in using a foreign language, communication skills, and social interaction.

Throughout the project, the speaking activities provided valuable opportunities for students to practice and improve their language skills in authentic contexts. At the same time, the project enabled our pre-service teachers to further develop their professional knowledge and competencies through practical experience in authentic educational settings. Through these activities, participants gained experience in using English in everyday situations while strengthening their ability to communicate effectively with individuals from different age groups.

The project was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Professor Şeyma Kökcü. The activities conducted within the scope of the project made a significant contribution to strengthening university-community collaboration and fostering a sense of social responsibility among our pre-service teachers.

As the Faculty of Education, we remain committed to supporting projects and initiatives that promote our students’ academic, professional, and social development while placing social contribution at their core. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our faculty member, students, partner institutions, and all participants whose contributions made the successful completion of this project possible.
