University-School Cooperation in Education: “Voluntary Academic Advising” Meeting Held

A broad-based informational meeting was held at the Faculty of Education within the scope of the “Voluntary Academic Advising Practice,” implemented in cooperation with TOGÜ and Tokat Provincial Directorate of National Education.

The meeting was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Yılmaz, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Uğur Akın, Tokat Provincial Director of National Education Hüseyin Kır, faculty members, and the principals of the schools assigned to the project.

The Importance of Cooperation Was Emphasized at the Opening

Speaking at the meeting, our Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Yılmaz stated that inter-institutional cooperation in education plays a decisive role in achieving lasting and high-quality results. Our Rector said, “Through this project, our academics will establish direct contact with our schools, our scientific knowledge will find practical application in the field, and it will directly contribute to the quality of our education. I wish this cooperation, which we are carrying out with Tokat Provincial Directorate of National Education, to be beneficial to our students, teachers, and city. I would like to thank all our faculty members, school principals, and relevant institutions who contributed.”

Tokat Provincial Director of National Education Hüseyin Kır drew attention to the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in education and the advising process. During the program, Dean Prof. Dr. Uğur Akın delivered a detailed presentation outlining the fundamental elements of how the process should be carried out.

Meeting Concluded with a Question-and-Answer Session

In the final part of the meeting, a question-and-answer session was held with the participation of Faculty of Education faculty member Prof. Dr. Nail Yıldırım, Dean Prof. Dr. Uğur Akın, and Provincial Director of National Education Hüseyin Kır. The meeting concluded after the questions of the participating school principals and faculty members were answered and ideas were exchanged.
