“An Alternative Approach in Science Teaching, Drama Enriched AST” Seminar was Organized

This week, our faculty hosted Assoc. Prof. Dr. Demet Şahin Kalyon from the Department of Primary Education, Division of Classroom Education within the scope of Academic Sharing Seminars. In her presentation named “An Alternative Approach in Science Teaching: Ambitious Science Teaching (AST) Enriched with Drama”, Dr. Şahin Kalyon explained how AST, as an effective strategy in science teaching, contributes to student engagement and comprehension skills when enriched with drama.

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 15:15 at the Şehit Hüseyin Kısa Conference Hall of our Faculty, there was great interest from the members of the Faculty. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Demet Şahin Kalyon explained with examples how the AST approach can be applied to support students' in-depth understanding in science teaching and how this method is enriched with drama techniques.

Emphasizing the importance of such events in terms of sharing innovative approaches in education and supporting academic development, the Faculty of Education Professional Development Coordinatorship stated that Academic Sharing Seminars will continue.
